Windows 7: my sims 3 stop's working halfway through

i downloaded the game and pressed play and the sims 3 launcher loaded the game brings me to the menu where you chose what town to go to i left it on sunset vally pressed play loaded half way then the whole thing goes back to the windows desktop and

(it closed it self and i bounght my own sims 3 instead but came here for help)

could any help me i am dying to play the sims 3

Have you looked at the system requirements of the SIMS 3 and compared them to your system???

That graphics card "might" be a problem. I'm also not sure about that CPU either.
