    The price will vary - it depends on where you purchase from. A very rough ballpark figure could be anywhere from $50-$200.

    @reilly how much cheaper is up to you

    pretty much if you pick your parts and watch for certain deals sales even combo packages bare minimum would be 500.00 and that is scraping the bare minimum

    Desktop. Building your own laptop is extremely difficult (in comparison) and much harder to find parts.

    @lordbob wouldn't it be to his benefit to just go with a desktop instead of a laptop wouldnt he be kinda limited?

    I will look into a desktop

    I want to build a desktop and i want to build one that i can upgrade later and if i get a pre-built one i fear i wont be able to do that :)

    But yes, he could get a gaming desktop for a lot less.
