    Corrupt File


    After start up, I get a wmpshare.exe is corrupt. How do I fix this file. Thanks for the help.

    Hi cliftonljones, welcome to the forums, run the system file checker SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker that will sort out any corrupt files for you

    I did and it stated that after 60% it could not continue with the process. I guess I should have mentioned that. My apologies.

    cliftonljones, got to the start menu>run>services.msc and disable "windows media player network sharing service " hope that helps you

    Well, first let me say that I apologize for the late response, but since my new job gets me up at 3am, I have had little time for anything.

    As for the results below is the result from the disabling of the wmv network sharing disable.


    I received an error msg 1053. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
    Windows could not stop the Windows Media Network Sharing Service service on Local computer.

    Also, I have discovered that I have many corrupt files, but I have tried to run the scan on C:/ ,but it wants me schedule the scan, and it wont schedule it, SO I do not know waht to do about that either. Any help with it would be MOST appreciative. Thanks.
