    Sooo i've got the install dvd on an external hd and the installers loading but it doesn't give me the option to format the partition for a clean install, which is what im really after. Does it only give you the option if your booting from the installer? Is there anyway around this?

    When you are finished installing all you need to do is delete the windows.old folder.. While it is not the same as a true format, it is the next best thing...
