    Don't have permission...

    Hello all:
I'm having trouble with some files that aren't allowing me access. My particular example situation is that I'm trying to add some fonts into Suitecase Fusion, a simple operation, but no. It's saying "You don't have permission to open this file. Contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission".

Now I am able to access the files through my file manager, but it's not just this particular program. I'm running into file permissions all over the place, but I am logged in as an administrator.

How can I make it so that I have omnipotent access to all of my files, across the board? I've searched online, and on here of course, to find a solution. I've made sure the files are not protected, have "taken ownership" of files, etc. I don't know what more to do.

So, to simply and clarify: what steps can I take to avoid denial of access to files?

Any help is very much appreciated!

You have to take ownership to the folder at properties>security>advanced>owner>edit> (choose your username) > ok. You wont see any change immediately.

Yeah, I've done that and I still don't get permission. What next? Yikes!

right click on the folder or file then go to properties and configure your security tab.
or you can take snapshot to let me see.

Um, no, I would think I could determine that on my own, thank you.

It's looking more and more like it may be program-specific. I've tried using another program to access the same files and I'm having no trouble. So let's cross our fingers...

Thanks for all the help and input! The 'take ownership' shortcut was handy!

You haven't told us what folder you are trying to gain access to.
