Best Brand of DVD+ Media to use

I have a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C ATA Device which I believe is from Toshiba and was wondering what media brands you guys reccomend to use mainly for DVD Movies.

Also was wondering if there is maybe a firmware upgrade for it if so where would I find it?

I use the cheapest. Never had a problem. They probably all come from the name brand factories anyhow.

I just use Sony DVD and memorex DL DVDs.
never had a issue from them personally.

I think generally alot of it has to do with the burner itself TBH. As far as what media works best and which will be problimatic.
My previous DVD drive, would fail a burn and make coasters from these same disc maybe 50% of the time. It was annoying. My newer LG one has no issues at all.

Verbatim is supposed to be the best, & should be fine with most burners, Never used them myself.

I use HP DVD+Rs & Memorex. I typically buy what's on sale, but I stay away from store brands. Some are made by companies like Memorex, but some come substandard from Asia and won't work.

You shouldn't need to update the firmware on the drive. Depending on how old the computer is, you may not be able to find firmware for it. If it works then don't worry about the firmware.

I mail order my discs and I always use Taiyo Yuden media. Google it and you will find that it is very well respected.

Taiyo Yuden is really all that I have used for years. I usually buy 100-500 of them at a time depending upon the deal. Plus I get them for folks at work as well....you get better prices when you buy more.

Highly, highly recommend them. And as others linked to...I'm not alone in my recommendation.
