    Access refused as an administrator

I'm trying to disable drive indexing but as the administrator it says I do not have the rights.

Translated it says "you must have the administrative rights to modify these attributes".

    How to?

Hello Je24t2, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can also "Stop" and "Disable" the Windows Search service to disable the Index.

Index - Enable or Disable - Vista Forums

    Hope this helps,

Essentially option 2 is to ignore the files which windows 7 won't even let you apply this to even as an admin?

In any case I did both options.

    Thanks Brink

    You're welcome.

Correct. You do not want to change them. :)
