2 machines with same CK key

Hi,
I have installed windows 7 7100 X86 on my machine. (got my own key)
Lent the RC disk to someone else who got their own key, but installed with my key...
Both activated fine and updated...

Could this cause issues later???

Thanx

There are only a few keys being handed out - thousands use each one - M$ are just letting anything activate at this stage.

By being guinea pigs and testing the o/s - we are working for them for nothing.

MS Say you can use your key on 3 different machines.

So you can only use your key 1 more time.

[edit] Of course, when you signed up, the license key is assigned to your Windows Live™ ID.
If you have another Windows Live™ ID - you get another key which will work on 3 PC's

So really, its unlimited - until they stop the Public RC

Hi I must have used 2 sets of keys (from BETA) - one x-86 and one x-64 probably around 50 - 60 times -- numerous installs, builds, Virtual machines etc etc.

I don't bother with the x-86 stuff any more now however -- I've decided that if anything WON'T run on x-64 then it'll stay on a Windows XP virtual machine which I'll still be keeping around for a while even after the Windows 7 Final.

No probs.

Cheers

There were only 10 keys handed out for the Beta's.

They will definitely activate an infinite number of times - I have used the same one at least 9 times.

That is one they handed out as an x86 key - I use it mostly to activate x64 installs - there is no difference.

You can also use an x86 Vista product key to activate x64 Vista and vice versa - M$ keys do not differentiate between bit versions on the NT6 operating systems. Tho as the Vista one would be a purchased key - you are limited to the number of machines according to the license
