I have problems hiding files on an external NAS.

I have problems hiding files on an external NAS. It is write-protected (yet unlocked it seems to me) and even with an administrator account I can't get this to change (to non-write-protected and hidden). Not even via command prompt. I might have to add, I integrated the NAS (path) into "My Computer" (as network share), yet don't know the "original" path anymore. The NAS IP doesn't work (in the command prompt). What do I have to do different in the command prompt for network shares and how do I find out the "original" path?

What brand is the NAS? Most come with a configuration utility that runs under Windows.

Mine doesn't use the IP with the command line. For mine (a DLink), you need to access it through an internet browser.

To find the path, open Windows Explorer and right click on the NAS "drive", and look under properties. The path should be there.

Keep in mind that copying a hidden file from your PC to the NAS will make the file unhidden when it gets there. At least it does with mine. There might be a setting to fix this, but I never bothered to look, as it isn't really important to me.
