Cannot create/delete shortcuts in any folder in windows 7

    Hi all,
I have a weired issue with shortcuts handling in windows 7.

Immediate after I login to Windows 7 and for less than a minitue I'm able to delete/create a shortcut, but after a minute or so the functionlaity gets disabled in all folders.
I get access denied message everytime I try to create/delete a shortcut.

Can anyone know of a slution to this?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to preform this operation as an adminstrator?

Try doing a Clean boot to see what is causing the problem:

Try adjusting your UAC, I have mine set in the middle or shutting it off entirely.

You can get there by clicking on the bottom link "Change User Account Control Settings...

In researching this problem I came up with some background that may be related:
Can't create shortcuts via Right-Click - Vista Forums

You should read this W7F tutorial to familiarize yourself in the procedure, but #9 To Remove or Restore Shortcut - will hopefully fix your problem: New Context Menu - Remove & Restore Default Menu Items, and follow the directions to the end, #15.

If not you may have to start thinking about a re-install of the OS.

Thank you very much for the reply.
However, none of these worked for me.

I already have the right click menu for creaing short cut, but when I click it nothing happen.

I don't like the option of re-installing or restoring the OS because I've many applications installed and configured with lots of paramters.

The best thing is to figure out the fix for this problem because this problem can appear latter.

I tied the clean boot option. In it, I couldn't disable some sercives like Mcafee.
After disabling all services that could be disabled, the problem was still there.
So this troubleshooting option didn't work either.

I found the casue of the problem.
It is Mcafee managed for the entire domain I'm part of.
    Now, it is fixed.

Thank you all for your usefull replies through.
