    Can't open programs?

So I was downloading something on a program, and it asks if I should allow this program to make changes to my computer. I click no and then all of a suddenly all my program icons change to a picture of a file and then it's logo on it. Next time I start up my computer and click on a program, it asks what I should open this file with. Could anyone tell me how to fix this?

I would do a system restore. Type System Restore into the start menu search bar to find it. Pick a date before you tried to install the plug-in. For future reference, you will need to click yes for any type of install.

Looks like you lost the default file association.
See here: Default File Type Associations - Restore

I didn't want to create a new thread on this, and sorry if this is bumping, but now I got it fixed (thanks dinesh) could someone tell me how I can get the file images to be normal? Because they are still white papers(or whatever that is)

That is definitely not bumping. Bumping a thread is posting on the same thread 15 minutes after making it, before anyone responds asking why no has responded or merely saying "bump". What you did is update us on the situation.

i'm not sure if this will work, but you could use the Fixit on the following page to try to solve it. Click enable Fix it, then disable it, and see if all the icons are restored. When you enable the fix it, all icons will become the white page. Then disabling it should make all of them the regular icon.

That didn't work for me(unless I somehow did it wrong), do you possibly know any other solutions?

At this point I would do a system restore like I originally suggested. That is the only method I can think of to get things how they were before. The only down side is that you will need to reinstall all updates and certain programs installed since the restore point was made.
