Hello,
Does your current Username has any special characters ? Try to create it from "Local Users and Groups"
Start | Right click on Computer | Manage | Local Users and Groups | Users | There just Right Click on Panel the select New User then try to create one there.

Hello rcsh, welcome to Seven Forums!
I see from the snip above you are trying to name the account "Admn" Windows may not be allowing that as there is already a "built in" acct named "Administrator" and yours may be confusing matters not to mention people have had major problems when an acct is named administrator, try another name.
