I don't think you understood what Jimbo was saying. 7154 hasn't actually been compiled yet.

    Hi there
I made a typo in my post -- I meant 7130 but we are obviously on the right track here.

Bit hung over after Manchester United won English Premier League (Football / Soccer in the US) yesterday equalling Liverpool's 18 times -- BTW there's ONE guy on this Forum I know who won't be pleased .

I disregard all the "Fake" stuff especially when people seem to be scared of quoting "Chapter and Verse" for their conclusions.

    Cheers
    jimbo
You on about me jimbo? Well done to utd but we are getting ever so close. (if only Gerrard and Torres had stayed fit). One or two quality signings thios summer and I really can see us doing the biz next year..

    But till then well done

    Hi there
    I was thinking about you.
I think it was some of the home points you'd dropped against the weaker teams -- afterall you walloped Utd and Chelsea and then came a cropper against some poor sides.

Enjoy today's game -- you'll probably send W.Brom down. -- I'd LOVE to see Newcastle in the drop also (one of my best mates in the UK is a Maccam and you know what those people think about Newcastle. Sunderland aren't themselves 100% safe -- interesting finish next Sunday BTW).

    Cheers
    jimbo

Some confusion about expiration date --
If you type "winver" in the start menu search box it says March 1, 2010
    BUT
if you go to an admin command prompt and type:
"slmgr.vbs /dlv" to display licensing info, it says June 1, 2010 with "rearm count: 3"
I'm assuming that the March 1 is correct and you can do a rearm 3 times after that to use it until June 1. Each rearm adds 30 days. (slmgr.vbs -rearm)

    Anyone concur?

No, as of march 1st it will begin its Bi-Hourly Shutdown, as a warning to the user.

Oh well... it's really not an issue. By then we'll all have the final retail or RTM anyway. We'll probably have it long before these interim releases expire.

you know me jimbo... i could thro MS a list of stuff to do... these that you have mentioned would be on the top 15 things. Another thing that you and I and other likewise could use (just thought of this the other day, but i'm sure i cant be alone), and that would be the ability to drag n drop files into an RDP instead of having to navigate to a shared folder, or having to share a folder or file, just for the RDP client's short use of. Same thing would apply for Remote Assistance. Tho honestly i've yet to play with 7's RA just yet.

I like the talk here and info. I hope the improvements keep coming despite any release date range.

Just to input a little more info.... kinda on the 7 topic.... You may know also this, but i read where the new WHS is of course going to be based on the 7 platform, but will be only x64 based, no x86... have you heard such a thing? This would fly in the face of the "spare closet pc" you may use to host WHS.

I have heard that the new WHS will be 64 bit only, which kind of makes sense, because people really need to start moving off of the x86 platform. Speaking of "Spare closet PCs"...the one I have sitting in the bedroom is an old Pentium D930 64-bit comp. I would throw the new WHS on there in a second.
