    Missing icons in notification area

Hello. Just started having a small problem with icons not showing in the notification area. The programs are running (or so Task Manager tells me), but I am unable to open a program that does not show its icon.

One program is SUPERAntiSpyware. I have it set to run a scan each night and I usually click on the icon the notification area to see results. Also use Karen's Replicator to backup some data each night.

The question is how do I get these icons back in place?

Thanks for any ideas and/or solutions.

Have you pinned SuperAntiSpyware.exe to the task bar?

    Mr

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Jacee - I don't want it pinned to the taskbar, I want in the notification area (next to the clock).

gaz - Yes. I clicked to show icons and notifications. No joy.

Do you right click on the icon and run as Administrator? It should be in the task bar, running that way.

Jacee - The ONLY icon I have is in C:\Win 7\Program Files. There is nothing showing in the taskbar or anywhere else. The task manager/processor show the programs as running. The startup folder has the icons showing they are to start on boot up. Also WinPatrol shows both programs in it's start up folder.

What happens if you end the process, then click 'new task' and restart it?

Did you look in the notification box behind the tiny arrow? You can, btw, drag icons between the box and the taskbar - both ways.

I can't drag icons from the taskbar to the notification area, nor the other way either.

I am going to try the "reset" of the notification area next. Will let you know later.
