    Two Major Explorer issues (redux)

Ok, a while back I made this thread: So...lots of Explorer issues. Fixable? in the customization forum, as I had a number of issues I wanted to see if I could tweak/fix. As you can see, the responses I got were all basically from a relatively rude person who seems to have been since banned (and I apologize for not responding to the nice person who messaged me about it...I couldn't seem to get a response to work! The message has since been deleted so I don't know who it was)
I'm still looking for every single one. Two of them are more 'problems' than simple UI issues, so I'm wondering if maybe I'll get some real help this time (I already did a sfc /scannow which didn't find anything).

-The automatic sorting, which is tied with auto-refresh seems to stop working randomly. Note that this seems to NOT be the same issue that many people have where renaming and deleting files don't show renamed and deleted -- I haven't had that problem.
But if I rename, say, something from "Aba.txt" to "Zaba.txt", it's supposed to slide down under "Yaba.txt", but sometimes this stops working. The bigger problem, though, is that this means if I, say, rip a CD it won't show the new files added into the folder without refreshing it somehow.

-The other issue is that if I select multiple files, and then sort the files (say, changing from sorting by type to by date), the selection is lost. It's NOT lost if only one file is selected. The person responding to my other post implies that the selection shouldn't be lost, even posing screen shots with it working like I want it to.

As for other a couple other issues I had there (date modified in wrong order and Explorer quitting when taking out a drive and the selection is on the drive), I assume this is intended behavior and no amount of tweaking can fix it.

So if anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

I recommend a free alternative: Q-Dir Q-Dir is a File-Explorer for Windows-Seven/Vista/XP/2000/98 with a screen magnifier, it gives you 4 folder views at the same time and tabs also.

Explorer also for some reason will "flash" the task bar if I use the show desktop button.
