Both of my monitors are identical (BenQ G2412HD), but I'll try to switch them and se if the error occurs again..
I have researched this problem and it seems to only happen between 2 monitors. I do not have a cure for it but I just thought to let you know that this only happends when you have more than one monitor. In this AMD Forum, a User has the same issue as you have but is it a consequence that this only happends on the primary monitor?

Yes, the mouse only takes the different shape while in the primary monitor, if that's what you meant... The error hasn't occured yet, so I am unsure wether it will happen with the other monitor as primary.

Edit: read the thread you linked, and they suggested and older driver so I'm gonna test that aswell.

    Thanks

Okay, the monitors did not have anything to do with it. And while using a 3rd monitor I got the error on the secondary monitor, which is kinda odd since it only occured on the primary so far. Also, the older driver did not seem to have any effect on the issue. It does appear to happen more rarely with the newest Catalyst (10.7) though.

Considering buying a nVidia card to replace this ATI @#§!

Wow, this is a really hard issue to sort out, Give me some time to research this issue and I will let you know what I find, or if any solution is available.

Seems that ATI is aware of the issue, and have been for some time, but they havent really done or said anything about it, so that just says quite a bit about their customerservice. I've read quite a few forums threads on this elsewhere and it doesnt seem to be any real solution. Only some halv-assed solutions like turning on mouse-trail, but then you will have some issues in games etc. And another person mentioned that "you could just turn off HW mouse", but I have no idea what he meant by that..

I think he meant just turn off HardWare mouse. Im not quite sure. Thats good to know that ATI is aware of this but it's not good that they haven't found a fix for it.

Is it possible to take a picture of the screens? Just so that I can identify anything wrong. Thanks!

Like a screenshot or actual pictures of the monitor?

And on a side note, I havent gotten the error since sunday so the new 10.7 driver may have done some improvement.

Thats great! An actual photo of the monitors is what I need. You could try reconnecting the monitors to your Computer. If this error does not occur again, then your problem is sorted! :) I would keep this tread open just in case it happends again.
