Bootable USB drive: problem with DiskPart utility

    1. cmd
    2. Diskpart
    3. list disk
    4. select disk 2
    5. clean
    6. create partition primary
    7. select partition 1
    8. active
    9. format fs=fat32
    10.Assign
    11.Exit

    Performing 9 fails:
"An object was again called before the first call was completed".
    Retried with =ntfs, same msg.

Worse even, could not format as usual, because I "had no rights", although I am the administrator.

Purpose was to create a bootable usb stick as recovery instrument.
    Anyone knows a better method?

    And please:
How can I reuse my stick of 128Gb (not cheap...).

    1. In search box type cmd and press ctrl+shift+enter to run cmd as administator.
    2. replace step 9 with format fs=ntfs
    3. download bootsec.exe and copy it to d:
    5. type d: and then type cd\
    4. type bootsect.exe /nt60 j: ( Which ever is your drive letter )
    5. copy window 7 setup files to drive

I just use pendrive linux's usb multi boot (Boot Multiple ISO from USB (MultiBoot USB) | USB Pen Drive Linux) Format the drive as fat32 open up the exe agree to the eula and select your drive. Then scroll all the way down to the bottom of list and there is a win7/vista installer, just point it at you iso and you all set!

    Hope this helps

Easiest is MS tool: Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

But it can be picky about the ISO, so next easiest I've found is installing UltraISO trial: on File tab Open ISO, on Bootable Tab Write Disk Image, Format, Write. Boot under USB or HD.
