i have 3 program files folder in my Win 7 x64. What happenned?

I tried to install a software in my computer today. Unfortunately it did not finish installation due to some problems. After that i found out i have 3 program files in my win 7. 2 identical Program files folder and 1 program files x86 folder. What happened?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Your suppposed to have two. Programs Files and Programs Files (x86). What is in the two Programs Files folders? Are they identical? Or do they differ in a significant way?

I would do a system restore to right before the failed installation. I can't think of anything else short of a clean install that would fix it, and most of your settings and all of you personal data will be left completely untouched.

i found this software in the internet named" Invalid file remover" It finds and remove invalid file that win7 will not delete. I gave it a run and it removed that cloned " Program File " folder. I re started my unit and check the system drive. Presto it was deleted.

I hope this will help others in the future.

Thank you
