    Message at startup

    Hi guys!

I'm a newbie here, so maybe I put this thread into wrong section (if I did admins please put it where it belongs)...so anyway I need your help...

Every time at startup I get this notepad message. What is it? How do I turn it off?
It's not a big problem but it's very annoying...
    I'm using Windows 7 RC 32 bit.

    thanx

Hello Tony, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Looks like you are running the 7057 build. This will help show you how to stop that.

    Build 7057 desktop.ini Fix

You might consider installing the official Windows 7 RC (7100) build released by Microsoft though.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi there
I see you are using build 7057. Whilst an OK build you might consider using the RC (build 7100) as Brink suggests or what a lot of us seem to percieve is better (although I can't give any rigorous proof) build 7127.

This problem has been fixed in these builds.

    Cheers

According to the attached screenshot you are running on Build 7057..?

As far as I know that bug is only present in this particular build and was fixed in later ones so I assume this has been covered before. If not then follow these steps.

    Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    Delete desktop.ini

    Navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

    Delete desktop.ini if present.

NOTE: You will have to show hidden files and folders.

That's it! but if you are indeed running on Build 7057 then I would recommend you download the RC and perform a clean install.

Not helpful at all to the OP but had to be said. Again.
