Task Scheduler - run program on wake

I simply want to run a program when the computer returns from standby, but I see no options in the scheduler.

    Help?

    Use Task Scheduler.
    Create a new task.
    Give it a name
For Trigger, make a new one.
Begin the task: and select task for wake up
    Then selection actions and conditions.

There is no selection for 'on wake' in the pulldown menu

This is for my HTPC, and it is always logged on. It is always powered, just sleeping or in use.

Weird. I thought it existed for Vista but, like you said, it's not there for 7.

So, any other options you can think of?

I truly hate when the results on Google come up with this forum. 90% of the time the answers are stupid, wrong or just something someone would answer without really reading the OP's question.

FWIW, I think Task Scheduler is the most valuable thing around in Windows.

Pull up Event Viewer (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer) and select (LH side) caret by SYSTEM LOGS. Then select SYSTEM.

Scroll and find the time when your PC just woke up from sleep. The event ID will be 1 and source column will be Power-Troubleshooter.

Highlight that and then right-click and select Attach task to this event. Then do your thing by setting up all the applet panels.

Here's mine (using the COPY tile from the lower pane):

    Log Name: System
    Source: Microsoft-Windows-Power-Troubleshooter
    Date: 12/28/2011 8:31:26 PM
    Event ID: 1
    Task Category: None
    Level: Information
    Keywords:
    User: LOCAL SERVICE
    Computer: Jim-GLH
    Description:
The system has resumed from sleep.
    Sleep Time: ‎2011‎-‎12‎-‎28T23:36:50.608543500Z
    Wake Time: ‎2011‎-‎12‎-‎29T01:31:18.170801200Z
    Wake Source: Unknown

Test by simply issuing a MESSAGE when that event occurs (will present a popup window for you of text).

I could never get the pop-up message to work.

I could make it run a program (IrfanView) which played a noise/tune though.
