Should I upgrade to Win 7 Professional ? Currently I've got HP 64, I dunno If the features would be worth it for me. But one thing I do like is that gpedit.msc is included in Professional and above.
Should I fork out $130 for the upgrade ?
And what would be the main difference between Professional and Ultimate ?

Welcome Jordan
Here is the comparison of the editions Which one is right for you? - Microsoft Windows

I will say that for most Home Premium is more than enough, except in special situations. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

To the OP...think about it for a second. We don't know your budget (you could be a millionaire, or out of work). Anyone can google the differences between the versions, so you need to decide if it is worth it or not....not us.
If the group policy editor is the only different that matters to you, I can't see spending any money on that.
On a side note, if you tell us why you need the group policy editor, maybe we can suggest another way to change whatever it is you want to change. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i7-2600 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Memory 12 GB Patriot Extreme DDR3-1333 Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 470 Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp 2209WA PSU OCZ ModStream 700W Case CoolerMaster HAF 912 Advanced Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus Hard Drives OCZ Agility3 240 GB, WD5001AALS, WD7501AALS |

JordanJP From what I remember from Microsoft is that Pro and Ultimate are very similar except for the price tag... Difference Between Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional & Ultimate Editions
It's up to you whether Professional would be better for you. Group Policy Editor is one small feature which made me decide Pro over HP. I also noticed that Professional installs faster than HP on my machines when done as clean installs. Keep in mind: Professional does not have any of those Microsoft games turned on if that matters to you.
The only advice I can give is stick with HP for now. If in the future you want to upgrade to Ultimate, then go out and get Professional... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number ATX Custom Build 2012 OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3-2100 @ 3.10GHz Motherboard Intel DH67CL desktop ATX Memory 10 GB DDR3 Graphics Card Asus EAH5450 series (Radeon) Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, Samsung Syncmaster P2450H Screen Resolution 226BW: 1680 x 1050 & P2450H: 1920 x 1080 Keyboard HP Wireless Elite Keyboard Wireless Keyboard Mouse Microsoft Touch PSU Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 500W Case Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Cooling stock cooling with added intake fan Hard Drives Western Digital 320 GB sata (boot), Samsung 640 GB sata, Seagate 2 TB sata (data) Internet Speed Comcast Cable business class <=18Mb {averages 12Mb} Other Info Optical drives: LG SuperMulti Blue, HP DVD 1260T

Unless you need the ability to use the group policy editor, need to have Remote Desktop access to your computer, and/or need to connect to a domain, you don't really need 7 Professional, especially since you already have Home Premium.
And with Ultimate, adding to what Professional gave you, you get Aero over Remote Desktop, BranchCache, DirectConnect (VPN), BitLocker, AppLocker, and the access to the language packs for Windows 7. Usually I recommend people get Home Premium and if they want to be power users, Professional but apart from that, unless you want bragging right or just must have every feature, I rarely recommend Ultimate. But again, the decision is up to you and if you want to fork over the money. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3 530 2.93 Ghz Clarkdale Motherboard ASRock P55 PRO/USB3 LGA 1156 Memory 4 GB OCZ DDR3 1600 (PC12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 1 GB of RAM Sound Card Realtek HD ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays 20'' eMachines E202HDbmd Glare Panel Widescreen Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite PSU Rosewill Xtreme Series RX750-D-B ATX12V v2.2 & EPS12V (750W) Case Cooler Master Centurion 534 RC-534-KKN2-GP Mid-Tower Cooling Standard Case Fans and Stock CPU Heatsink Hard Drives Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Black Edition (7200 RPM) SATA

i should have bought basic... You're probably not doing it right because I've run 2 NICs at the same time in both Ultimate and Professional. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i3 530 2.93 Ghz Clarkdale Motherboard ASRock P55 PRO/USB3 LGA 1156 Memory 4 GB OCZ DDR3 1600 (PC12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti with 1 GB of RAM Sound Card Realtek HD ALC892 Monitor(s) Displays 20'' eMachines E202HDbmd Glare Panel Widescreen Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite Mouse Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Elite PSU Rosewill Xtreme Series RX750-D-B ATX12V v2.2 & EPS12V (750W) Case Cooler Master Centurion 534 RC-534-KKN2-GP Mid-Tower Cooling Standard Case Fans and Stock CPU Heatsink Hard Drives Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Black Edition (7200 RPM) SATA
