Windows 7: Icons Disappearing!!!

Icons Disappearing!!!

My icons on my desktop, taskbar, and my start menu keep disappearing. It happens randomly and some times they will reappear when i hover over them with the mouse or bring up a new program. Also some other icons throughout the system are missing and having problems. PLEASE HELP!!!

What build are you on.?

Nevermind your on RC1.

Create a new account see if icons are stable.

Yup.....you bet!

These so called 'Watermark' removers reek havoc on the Windows 7 system, best avoided, besides I love my 'build text' showing, and think it should become mandatory from now on..........like........

Yes...I installed win 7 two times. First time I use watermark remover...icons was disappears every time I rename the icon, but when you make refresh..it will come back.

The desktop Icons do disappear. It's happened to me.

To get them back:

right click on desktop > View > click show desktop icons.

i dont think that's the same. it looks like his problems are hack related

DITTO. Icons on desktop, taskbar, Start menu, notification area, and even the Back and Forward buttons in IE8 disappear when I pass them mouse over them. No hacks here, either.

Windows 7 Build 7100, Toshiba Tecra M5.

same problem

I'm having the same problem as well... icons on taskbar (pinned, running, tray) randomly disappear, as do desktop icons and some icons in applications. I'm running rc build 7100. I didn't upgrade from the beta, instead did a clean install (though didn't format the drive).
