A fax can only go through a phone line. I have DSL setup over a Wifi, but the fax needs to be connected directly to a phone line. It will not go through the Wifi.

You might consider an internet fax service though... at least it's a possibility. Check out FAQ: How can I send a fax from the Internet?.
