    Windows 7 Desktop Slideshow

    Hello all.

Has anyone started working on importing Desktop Slideshow into Vista? Or would it be better to wait for the beta?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    Hi Ted,

Have a look at this ...

    John’s Background Switcher « John’s Adventures

Not a direct port but does the same thing

Single wallpapers are a bit boring

Thanks Nigel. Will give that a try next time I'm in Vista.

I used to use a different one - Wallpaper Master Pro or something like that I think. I use Desktop Slideshow now though, because I'd rather use the one built-in to windows than a third-party program, fewer resources, and more importantly it has the cool effect on transition. I'd guess this John's one doesn't do it either though <_<

    Hey Nigel....:)

I just went over to Vista and that works good; thank you very much. I have it set to one minute; that's often enough. Windows 7 has spoiled me.

    I like free stuff!...

    Me too

Apart from the OS itself all my software on this machine cost me £0 or $0, it's either freeware, open source, or other commercial software I've assembled legitimately for free

If you look for it there are free solutions to all your computing needs

I don't like open source software at all. It always lags behind a good development team that is PAID for their work.

But what I really do love is small companies that make utilities that are live-savers.

Well this seems to be doing fine. I have it running the file with 650 images all saved at 1920x1200 resolution (4.1GB) and it's having no problems at all.

    Thanks again Nigel.
