Windows 7 - icons wont remove , need to keep refreshing?

Hello, as stated in the title, ive encountered a problem, which has come about for , what i think, no reason at all ?

If i delete a file, create a new file or move a file, it wont action the process? Well it will, but, i have to refresh the desktop or open folder to see the result.

So basically every time i action a file, it'll still stay in the same place, wont delete or move untill i refresh the screen.

Ive been reading up this problem for a few days, seen a number of responses, one being about editing the registry which i havent tried yet. And two being, reinstalling the whole os, which was something i was hoping to avoid.

Newly downloaded programs don't appear on desktop.

Thanx for your quick response, i clicked on the link, scrolled down the thread, but im not using Opera, im using windows7 home pre, 64bit.

Stuart, just read my post, number3. It is for the OS, windows, not the broswer.

The Browser, should not have an effect in your case..

tried what you said, modified the value to '0' ... turned comp off last nite,

tured on just a moment ago, deleted a file. but it wouldnt dissapear off the screen untill i refreshed, hmmm.
