svchost 100% CPU only when idle

as the subject states lve finally after a while caught why my system randomly shoots up 10C in temp while idle.. it relates to svchost, however this leaves allot of questions because as far as lm aware svchost is a process that runs many others under it...

just for interest l have disabled indexing so it shouldnt be related to that but lm still at a loss to explain because it could be one of many processes, so if possible it would be nice to find out if there are any tools that might help locating where the issue is.

Download, install and run process explorer
    Process Explorer

Program will tell you where spike in CPU is caused by (e.g., CPU "svchost.exe -DcomLaunch)

is there any way to get it to log? because l can leave it running but the likelihood of me catching it before things return to normal is somewhat hard especially seen as how fast the programs are flashing around.
