solution doesnt work

i have the search and index problem and ive tried the solution of changing the key register but it doesnt work because i dont have the key you mention!

which should i modify??
please help ASAP!!!

I was trying to do what you recommended guys, but like the dantevn I can't find this registry key. Windows is Home Premium x64...

Oh, I just spotted that the last post was in April but... 2011. I hope I won't be said to be a greatest digger If someone can help - it would be appreciated.

Or maybe you know any applications that can do a list of registry keys and any specialist will take a look at it?

You might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before the issue started may be able to undo and fix it for you.

It's embarrasing but I put my post in the wrong topic... My problem was with Search option in the folders. But I finally also get rid of it

Change advanced indexing options

The problem.... Typing anything into the search box on the start menu or in windows explorer/control panel has no effect, no results are found. It doesnt say no result are found it just displays nothing. This extends to everything, searching for files as well as things like 'cmd' and 'regedit'....
