What is "searches" file

Running Windows 7 Home Premier

Under my user there is a file folder called searches. It seems to contain everything I have looked at in the past.

Can I delete it?
Will it come back?

It must take up lots of space on the hard drive.

Thanks in advance

Bob

Yes, you can delete the files in the folder. It helps speed up the searching process, but you are welcome to delete the files, although they are generally very small.

Default "Browse for file" location in web browser "choose file" box
Hi, how can I change this? Some background - this may not be the issue I need to solve at the end of the day: I believe the location is causing crashes, since I blew up lots of Library registry values (in an attempt to remove them from the OS), and I think it defaults to the library page....
