    Search box broken


    Hi,

    I recently installed a program that was able to change folder backgrounds but uninstalled it, and I think this is what has caused this problem:

    Those same files show up no matter what I type in and they are all 0 bytes. If I right click one, Windows Explorer crashes.

    Use system restore from about 3 or 4 days before you installed that program

Search in Start Menu broken?

Has anyone experienced this before? I'm on W7 RC and since yesterday I can no longer launch apps by typing their name in the start menu. The attached image would usually display Excel 2007 but all I get now is that weird Programs icon. The search still works for folders, ie I can type...

When I have Explorer open and enter "New York City", including the quotes, and tell the Search to search within files, it returns the names of all files containing the word New, OR the word York, OR the word City. What am I doing wrong??? On XP this is SO easy to do! Alternative would...
