How to lock PC without the need of a screensaver?

I've read somewhere here before that Windows 7 introduced a feature wherein you can lock your PC without the need of a screensaver. My question is how can I access this, or change this setting? Local Security Policy? GPedit?

    Hello Arkhi,

It's the same as it was in Vista. You can press Windows Key + L, or open the Start Menu and open the arrow menu next to the power button and select Lock. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi arkhi,

This feature has been included in several generations of Windows. To invoke it, simply press the Start button on your keyboard and, whilst holding it down, press L.

Lol Shawn, you beat me to it. :)

Thanks guys, but I'm already familiar with that feature. I'm more interested with the autolock part. Back then we usually have to select a screensaver and then enable "On resume, display login screen"..... Oh wait I just found it. XD

They don't grey out that setting anymore when you don't select a screensaver in 7. I was thinking it required a more 'advanced' approach. Thanks again nonetheless!

You could select the Blank screensaver to have that option available to use though.
