    Cannot find Automatic Log On

Cannot find Automatic Log On on Windows 7 to uncheck it so machine will automatically go into desktop. We are on a network, but was able to do this on XP, but I have looked at all the discussions, printed them out and I just do not get that automatic at the top of the users tab that says Users must enter a user name and...and user is also Administrator. Please advise if there is something I am overlooking

I have already went to that and just do NOT have #3, where it has the information on the top. I've just set this computer up on "7", but also checked my settings (I do have a password), but cannot find #3 on mine either.

    Hello,

Try to go to Start | Run | control userpasswords2

I have also used that and at the top is "use the list below to grant or deny users access to your computer and to change passwords and other settings". I have (2) users listed, the 1st is ASPNET\My shortened name as Domain\Administrator and my full name\my shortened name as Domain\Adminstrators.

Sorry, the first one "ASPNET is set as a Standard group.

Are you the only user of your computer? Is it one that stays at home? If so, you could just remove the password. This would result in an automatic login.

Here is a better way to do this from Microsoft:
Plus your password is not stored in plain text.

    Autologon

There are two separate computers, mine and my bosses who I just put the windows 7 on and we are on a network. His does not have a password, mine does. I did download and try autologon on both machines. Got same message on both "Autologon does not support NULL passwords". Put my password in and then got the message "Could not open Winlogon Registry Key".
