Startup problem When I start my computer, there is a message that flies by so fast, I can't read it. Black screen, looks like a message in a command prompt. How do I start up so that that message waits on the screen so I can read it? My computer is working fine otherwise. I just don't know what that message is. Thanks. --Arthur

On your keyboard is a button with pause on it. Just push that when it pops up that will stop it on the screen for you to read. To continue just push the pause button again.

Thanks, Steve. But the message goes by so fast, I haven't been able to pause it in several tries. As I recall, wasn't there a startup mode in Windows 98 or XP that would pause at each screen? Is there something similar in Windows 7?
So how else can I stop that screen to see what it says? Thanks. --Art | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird. OK. I've been doing that, but I either catch it too soon or too late! I'll keep trying each time I startup--I'll catch it sooner or later. I'm not too concerned because everything is working fine. Look in the Event Viewer>Admin View which may have logged it if it is an error.
Google any repeat errors with some of the text and error# to see how others have resolved them. | My System Specs | | |

Thanks, Greg. I'll do that. I don't think it's an error, actually. Karlsnooks, yes, the system is working perfectly, so I'm guessing the screen is just telling me that a driver has been loaded. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio XPS 8100 OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP 1 CPU Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.8 GHz Motherboard Dell 0T568R (CPU1) Memory 8.0 GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 664 MHz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card nVidia GeForce GTS 240 Sound Card M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496 Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2407WFP Screen Resolution 1920x1200 Hard Drives 977 GB Western Digital WDC WD1001FAES-75W7A0 (SCSI) Other Info Microsoft Security Essentials, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird.
