Deleted Recycle Bin files showing up on desktop

I did a search on this and could not find anything. Once in awhile my desktop will have a bunch of random files I deleted a long time ago. I always empty it too. There won't be anything in the recycle bin or on the desktop and then I'll go to look at it after awhile and some other group of files will be there. I have tried the whole "rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin" on every drive on my computer. Windows is installed on C:. This is REALLY weird. It isn't even the same group of files each time, it is just random files I've deleted over the past 2 months. I noticed a folder for a demo install of InDesign comes up a lot and says it is in use when I try to re-delete it, could Adobe's crap software be breaking it? PLEASE HELP, THIS IS VERY ANNOYING.

Windows 7 64 Ultimate, 12 gigs of ram, I7 processor. Hard drives are at most half full.

its possible that malware programs are doing this.

I would run either SpyBot Search & Destroy or Ad-Aware to remove the malware programs that are causing this.

Couple things I can think of:

    1. If the files show up again on your desktop, instead of right clicking and deleting (which sends the file to the recycling bin), try using Shift + Delete, this should bypass the recycling bin
    2. Run Disk Cleanup (shouldn't take too long) and then reboot

I have done all of these things. And yes, I have Spybot, Ad-Aware, Eset AV and everything is clean.

Are they the same files over an over?

Is it possible you have your desktop set as the temp folder for some program and they get recreated every time you get rid of them?

What are the file names? Somthing like "desktop.ini"? If so then you have "Show hidden files" turned on and are deeleting normally hidden system fiels that windows will continue to recreate if they are gone. Turn off viewing hidden files in that case.

Not that either. They are random files I created and then deleted in the past month - .jpgs, .pdfs, etc. They are not system files and desktop is not set up for temp files in any programs. I am fairly knowledgeable about windows/computers so this is unusual for me.

I think I found a tip: I cannot delete the folder for Adobe InDesign installer unless I kill a taks called maxsync.exe, which is a Maxtor/Seagate program. Is it possible it has something to do with my hard drive?
