Your C:\Emergency folder, how did it appear in the first place? Have you created it manually or there was some sort of application that created the folder (such as Microsoft Emergency Recovery Utility, etc.)?

Backup Programs, maybe by accident? I don't know. The shortcut on the desktop is called "Emergency Backup" so I guess that means something...when the shorcut just leads to Emergency in C:
To periboob, I was wanting to just not have it there in the first place. I don't know why it started appearing there all of a sudden.
unifex, are you saying the Emergency folder in C: is not initially supposed to be there? I thought that was something almost everyone had by default.
I don't know how it appeared, but I used it to put some files into it that I will later transport to me PSP..these files are just music and video files, though that part is probably not important.
No such folder called Emergency suppose to sit in your C drive.
You don't know if you installed a Backup program?
How about doing a Virus scan or a Malwarebytes scan.
You might want to post your system specs, Wandering Flame. There is a chance it's some program installed by the manufacturer. If this is a laptop it might be a utility bugging you to burn a recovery disc or something like that.
I'd also second the motion by eldinv that you run a malware scan. :)
I have a Dell Inspiron 560. It came with Dell Datasafe Backup and Recovery. I believe this is the program reloading the desktop shortcut after each deletion / reboot. It does the same thing on mine. I have yet to find a solution, but when I do, I'll post it
