    Windows Clicking Problem

Hi, i'm new here. The main reason I joined is because my windows 7 has a serious clicking problem. I drew the line when I tried to open "advanced network sharing settings" from the control panel. I clicked and clicked but it wouldn't open. This same problem occurs with lots of other functions with the control panel and the OS in general. I am an administrator and I can assure you it is NOT a hardware problem. Any help regarding this "bug",perhaps, would be more than useful.

To be up front, I do not know the cause, but if it were my computer the first thing that I would do is make a through anti virus scan and then download and scan with malwarebytes
You must update malware bytes before using and do the full scan, (about 90 minutes)

I've got norton, and i've done a full system scan before, the ones that take like 2 hours. I don't think its a virus.

Hmmm. If it isn't a virus, maybe the click settings in the mouse control panel, like double click speed, may have changed accidentally?

I've clicked, mashed, octuple clicked, right clicked, and even used tab+enter to select things but it doesn't work. I'm on a laptop so i use the touchpad and the mouse that i have.

Does this happen in other programs (such as Word)? If not, it might be an issue with the OS, and you should open command prompt as admin (right click, run as admin) and type sfc /scannow to scan for errors.

If not, you could reinstall mouse (touchpad) drivers.

Word seems to be fine, probably because i only use the basics, but it happens with IE and Windows explorer. It seems to be all the microsoft products...

    Sounds like a corrupted OS.

Hit start, type cmd. Right click (if you can) on it and choose Run as Admin. Then type sfc /scannow and see if it comes up with any errors.

    It said:
Windows Resource Protectoin found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

I tried opening that but it said access denied even though i'm an admin.
