I have a major problem and i dont know how to solve it.

i have a major problem and i dont know how to solve it. please can you help. i work from home and have a newly made pc with several hdd and quite suddenly windows 7 has completely formatted 1 of my drives and has made it into an active recovery partition and i cant delete the thing i make regular backups with ghost of my c: and all my other drives are just there as storage. i originally had c: / d: / e: / f: / and i: drive. the i: drive is ghost images and is always hidden so family and kids dont trash it. but for some reason drive e: is no longer there. the drive at the top of the screen is the drive i want to reclaim but only get the option of help when i right click on it.

If the I:\ drive is a physical HHD (and not just a partition) you could format it completely using the Windows 7 install disk. You just run the disk up until just after you format the appropriate HDD.

Then boot back into Windows and it should be there again as normal.

Although your picture is far to dark to read (at least for my eyes), I suspect that someone has tampered with the disk. Windows does not "suddenly format" a disk by itself. Use Partition Wizard ( BEST FREE Partition Manager Software for Windows supports all 32-bit & 64 bit Windows No-server OS. ) to deal with it.

Try right clicking on it and consigning a letter to it and it should be recognized.

Please FIRST use Partition Wizard. You have received some advise that could potentially destroy info you do not desire to lose.

If you are talking about my post, assigning a letter does not erase any data.
