Have to login twice before System Manager works

Not really sure where to start with this one!!! The beginning I guess...

OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. When the pc is turned on and boots to the login screen i select my user(myself) and login no problems.....however IF i then do CTL-ALT-DEL to go to System task manager it takes 17seconds to get to the login screen and when i select Start Task Manager there is another 17second delay before task manager appears. The only fix I have found for this is instead of selecting System task Manager I click on my user login again, around 9secs to get into windows, but now, when CTL-ALT-DEL is done Task Manager comes up immediately! I have had my system since July and it has been like this from day 1. I have looked at task manager and stopped tasks i thought might be responsible but no joy. Its not a big deal but just frustrating.

    Anyone have an idea?

What happens if you right-click on the task bar and start task manager from there? Same delay?

    hey marsmimar,
Thanks for replying! Your suggestion works, immediate task manager. However! I will have to elaborate now....When i start crysis it takes an age before the EA logo comes up then approx 3mins or more before im able to start playing game. Then the fun starts. When i press TAB to display objectives the game freezes for around 2 mins then the objective window opens but no objectives just the outline of the panel. Finally it returns to game but its no good playing without map and objectives. Basically game is unplayable. So back to logging in AGAIN then restart crysis and all is good, no prob at all. Objectives and map display in an instant and game plays as it should! Go figure. At this time I should mention my pc is an Alienware Area 51(2months old) so there are no hardware bottlenecks.

    What you think?

I'm not an expert so these are just some random thoughts. If you're playing the original Crysis it was designed for XP and Vista. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode just for the heck of it?

Also, there are some known issues with certain Radeon and GeForce graphics cards ... specifically, lag or performance issues. You might want to try using the EA EasyInfo tool. From their site, "This utility allows you to see detailed information about your hardware often times pointing out issues that may be preventing the game from working properly."

    Support Tools=

If that doesn't pinpoint a specific problem it allows you to compile detailed information that can be reviewed by EA support personnel.
