    Uchecking read only doesn't work

I have a folder (non-system, created by me) that has some files in it read only (gray read only check mark), however when i remove it and it supposedly applies the new attribute to all files and sub-folders, read only still stays checked. How do i uncheck it successfully?

Be sure that you have permission

Attributes may also have to be changed.
If that does not work, just save with another name.

Did a little googling and solved it with the attrib command. For more info on it's uses type attrib /? on the command line.
