How to change C:\users\oem

I'm brand new to 7 and I was wondering if there is a way to change the C:\users\oem to say C:\users\myname... I don't want to move I my files, I just want to rename this.

You can not change the original user account name in the C://users.

If you can't rename it, which Home Premium might not allow, why not create another user account, and then use the copy function to copy the oem user account to the new one?

Hello Chichikoko, and welcome to Seven Forums.

As mentioned above, you cannot change the actual C:\Users\(user-name) folder name, but you can create a new administrator account with the name you like, then copy all of the contents of the old user account's C:\Users\(user-name) folders (including hidden AppData folder) into the corresponding new account's C:\Users\(user-name) folder. After everything checks out ok, you can delete the old user account while logged in the new user account.

You can use the method I posted above to easily just "Copy and Paste" the data to the new user account if you like.
