Hello again,
I recently applied a program to clear the cache on my system drive on shutdown or restart. It has gone from a minute approx. to 4-5 minutes. Is this normal?

Depends on how much you load up your system cache in a given up time/online time, you might consider doing a cold boot and not doing anything and just let it sit for 5 minutes and try a shutdown to see if the time is any different.

If this shows not a wink of difference you might want to then view your Event File and see what it shows as taking the longest amount of shut down time, perhaps it's a program you have auto loaded in the boot up process that isn't required on a daily basis then you can stop it from loading on boot up via msconfig.

Hello Gentlemen,
You help was invaluable in clarifying and clearly identify the culprit. I think I am going to remove it if I can figure out how. What amount of benefit do you get when the physical memory usual memory has not while I was looking gone above 80%. Seems like a waste of time from my inexperienced point of view.
