    Desktop icons layout

    Hi,

    I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64 edition and it is a dual-head system. Working fine mostof the time but let's say every few months, for whatever reason the system starts with only one monitor (monitor 1) active while the second one stays blacked. That can be easily resolved by system restart (this is rare, completly random and transient flaw), but the nasty thing about it is that such an event occurance completly messes my desktop icons layout and then I have tediously reposition them according my favourite mnemo-system. I am talking about something like ~60 icons, so this is really some pain in the ass.

    The question is: is there some recommended application capable of storing desktop icons layout and re-align them properly in case of the issue as above described?

    Nice user name {grin}

    You can lock the desktop but if the monitor changes resolution it will still re-arrange the them. You might be better off trying to find out why the second monitor is acting up.

    While figuring out your intermittent problem may be hard, you can make restoring your icons easier with a little freeware program Iconrestorer. A Guy
