A lot of folks recommend the free Microsoft Security Essentials security program and the free Malwarebytes scanner as a secondary on-demand scan. If you decide to try MSE make sure you either uninstall your other program or at least disable the real time scan. Having two real time scans running can cause problems for your machine.

Malwarebytes Anti Malware free is a very good backup for any anti virus program. Please remember that it is a on demand only. You must tell it to update and scan, until then it just sits there and does nothing.

That's good to see, I here it's a great program. From my understanding it will boot with MSE and work well together. I also recommend Windows 7 built in firewall, it works great for me. Let us know how MAM works active on your system.

If MAM is blocking sites you know are safe I would inform MAM, they could be false positives.

Blocking pop up adds is very good to me. Many can have bad things in them.
