    Try this first
Windows key and hit a left or right arrow, not on number pad.
Aero Shake - Enable or Disable

Once it is on try to use the windows key and arrows. The other way you have to move just right.

i guess the shake function has a mind of its own, it seems to work when it feels like it =S

You turned it on and you tried with the keys?

Go to the device manager (type that in search) make sure there are no yellow warning markers by the graphic card or any other card.
Make sure graphics driver is up to date

No, I mean on your keyboard, press the windows key, left bottom and tap an arrow left or right key. Not the arrows on the number pad.

Use that method, if you are young or if old, the shake method is hard to get right. The arrow is another method, thats all.

Maybe not talking about the same thing. The shake and the keys are the same thing. If it works with the keys, just practice with the shake if that is what you want. But its the same thing.
