missing "search programs and files" on start menu.

Dumb question. When using start option (lower left corner)on Windows 7 laptop, you should have an option to search for anything in pc. This option is below the "all programs" selection. My laptop lost it somewhere. Same thing when looking at control pannel screen in the upper right hand corner is another search option..gone..

where or where do I find thee to restore?? thnks, ken
