How to add parameter to default programs?

My default browser is Firefox. When I click a link Windows opens the URL in Firefox. That's OK, but I want to Windows to use additional parameters when opening links in Firefox. How can I do it?

I know command line switches of Firefox, but I want to know how to make Windows use a command line switch when calling a default program (Firefox in my case).

I dunno, but would it be possible to create a shortcut with the command line parameters you desire and then direct the file types you want to be opened in such a manner toward them through the "Default Programs" tool?

your comment annoyed me enough to finally register here to be able to reply to you.

The OP wants to register the URL file type with firefox but configure the parameters passed to the program. This used to be possible in XP, but in Seven the file type association editor got revamped and is now missing this possibility. It is only possible to select the executable, not enter a full command line with additional parameters, e.g.

"C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.6.0\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*

I couldn't find anything helpful in the links you provided.

Yeah, that setting was under "Folder Options", we could freely add additional custom parameters to any registered file type until Windows XP. But I don't know how to do it in Windows 7. I asked how to do that.

was a solution found for this, im using windows 10,

im experimenting with the following command but still not found the right answer

still seems to start with a default profile --- anoying as
