problem with menu options being left behind

Sorry for the probably inaccurate title; i'm not even sure how to describe it, so i won't and give you a pic instead.

When i right click on my desktop, obviously i have options like copy, remove, etc... for whatever reason, one of them will remain as a permanent fixation on my monitor regardless of what i do. Even as i type this: i have a remove bar in the middle of the screen, while i type this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is not a fix but out of curiosity if you right click and select refresh or press F5 (this also does a refresh) does it clear it?

i'll try that..

When I restart my computer the "problem" gets fixed... as in it goes away, but it definitely seems to be a recurring problem which is where my concern lies. It does this once a day for the past week or so it seems.
