    Please help

Before I changed to Windows 7 from Vista all my document folders were customised with an icon I made for that particular folder which gave an instant recognition to it's contents. see attachment.

Now with windows 7 in the Documents Library some folders have retained the customised view I created others have not. The way to change the folders that was available in Vista no longer works in Windows 7

Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks

Thanks for trying to help Luckystar, I looked at your link but to be honest it looked well out of my comfort zone for me to attempt.

    Thanks all the same.

The way to change a folder icon is to click the folder you want to change, select properties / customize then select change icon you will have to browse to the location you have the folder icon stored then apply,
its easy enough just make sure you are using an ico file and not a png

Just rename the picture inside the target folder you want shown to "Folder"

It will show just as your snip is above. You can then hide if you want.

Boohdah - I do not have a tag for customize - there is for general, sharing and previous version but no customize.

Wishmaster - your advice was productive my folders now appear the way I want them.

Cheers to both of you for taking the time to help me Blessings to you and your families.
