Problems with text not appearing in applications

I've just bougt a new laptop with Windows 7 installed on it. Everything is working fine except for this very annoying problem, and I wonder if the proble is wth Windows 7 or Internet Explorer I never had probs with Windows XP. Thing is, as I type, letters appear slower on the screen than the speed at which I am typing, and some letters fail to appear at all. I checked the drivers and they're all working fine, its just that I can't seem to type quickly and I've to backtrack and re-edit my sentences due to the missin letters.

There's 3 gig of RAM, so I don't think its lack of memory. However, there's no function to 'increase keyboard sensitivity' or anything like that... Is anyone out there experiencing the same problem, and if so can someone suggest a solution? It's driving me mad!

Thanks...
Robert
