    System info: other os unknown

More of a curiosity than a problem. Both in 7 and Vista under system info it says other operating system unknown. I was wondering with a duel boot set up is this line for displaying the alternate os? And if so does anyone show anything other than not available?

I'm dual-booting XP and 7 and have the same information in mine. I wonder if that's related to the improved virtualization support...

I'm using 7 as my only OS and i have the same screen so maybe it is a space for virtualization instead of dual booting

I have the same "Not available" showing while dual booting Windows 7 and Vista, and with Windows Virtual PC installed with the two OS's as well. No idea what it is suppose to be for.

Thanks Brink I was hopping this thread would catch your eye. If you are not sure than it truly is a mystery. Thanks Redsoxm 16 and mlevy for confirming I am not alone.

Come to think of it, it may be there for a OEM to use to add any special description of theirs for the OS.

That sounds likely given the name of the field.
