Extra users on windows 7 ?

Hi, I just ran my first registry defrag using TU utilities 2010 and as this proceedure ran I noticed that it listed 5 unidentified users and one called Sam. As I am the only user of this machine and have admim privileges, I was wondering what this means. Has my Pc been taken over or what ? My first post

Hi big gee and Welcome to SevenForums

The best way to keep a happy Win 7 is stay away from the registry as it does not need a registry defrag. Run a very good av Microsoft Security Essentials (recommended by most here) and safe internet habits and you will be fine.

Welcome, and there's an easy way to check. Go into Computer Management Console, and look under Local Users & Groups. Keep in mind some apps add user accounts, so they can run services with special permissions, but they aren't actual enabled user accounts that you log in with, such as .Net Framework, ASP.net, etc.

Did as you suggested and that put my mind at rest as it explains my multiple user query. Thanks for the reply

No problem...hearing that you may have extra users that you didn't create would definitely raise flags of concern. Glad to hear it is normal and not a bigger issue.
